Only to regrett it 2secs after the fact…..

I have those moments pretty regularly

Now I feel worse then before I said something…

I’ll be 27 years old in a little over 4 monthes, it’s probably time I started acting my age and not my shoe size (7.5).

I’ve realized lately that I’m a very co-dependent person. No matter how much I try and control this dependency it always comes back and bites me in the butt.

The funny thing is I always seem to become friends with people who are independent people.

Any tips on how to break this co-dependency?

Help before I DRIVE away all my friends!!

A few of the great memories from this summer!

This fourth of July was pretty much one that I will remember for years to come. All lot of activity some first time experience’s and a spectacular day overall.

Lots of fun with new people!

Chillin’ with the niece and nephew at the parade,side note :thought it was hilarious that there were Star Wars characters at a Independence Day parade. People believe me when I tell you that these were not rental costumes.

Almost walking out of Meijer w/o paying for my groceries is one event from the day I’d soon like to forget.

Relaxing with new friends, loving the sangria

Watching the fireworks from a new locale ( I missed the old locale though, there wasn’t enough boom from the Hill)

hanging out with old friends on rooftops, making new friends on rooftops, telling stories about Stacey and Berta and the “meat market”

ending the night with more “fireworks”!

I’ve always been an outsider. I’ve held pretty strong faith beliefs, was homeschooled, I mean those two examples right there throw you against the current of todays culture.

Unfortunetly while trying to blend in I’ve realized almost to late the little pieces of me that I’ve lost.

What happened to the girl who lived the “Road Less Traveled.” Honestly I do get tired of that road but now I realize it’s even harder to go down the road of “the same ole thing.”

Am I discouraged? Just a little. Well maybe more then a little. I guess I’ll never understand why other’s want to be accepted for who they are but when it comes to accepting who I am they aren’t as understanding.

Instead of holding my ground what do I do? I over compensate and end up getting hurt.

All of you who’ve known me for years, don’t freak out! While I’m not the same girl I was when I was 21, I’m haven’t totally lost myself.

I just wish the people who I accept where they’re at would accept me where I’m at and not shut me out because I’m different. Wishful thinking, right?

This is a short but sincere apology to all those friends who I’ve treated unkindly. Maybe we grew apart in our friendship and I treated you unkindly in the process, I apologize. For those times that I’ve treated ignored you, acted as if I was better then you or didn’t keep in touch, I apologize.

Other then doting on the niece/nephew life has been pretty much well adult life Work, work and work. I shouldn’t complain though because I have not only one but two jobs, while many don’t have any.

Now, I don’t have anything else exciting and earth shattering to share I did want to chat about a children’s  book, which while poorly written did give me an aha moment.

This book entitled “Magic the Cat” is about a cat who is looking for something to do. It goes through all these different options from eating,raiding the fridge,  chasing after loons,  to catching salmon, taking a nap and in the end just sitting there waiting for something to happen.

That last option, sitting around waiting, was what struck me. I realize that I have, without a doubt, been sitting and waiting from something exciting or someone exciting to drop into my life. How often do we just sit and not take action.

Me, pretty much constantly. With the excpetion of taking control of my weight loss and starting to run, I’ve become a creature of waiting for others. Well enough is enough, it’s time for me to stretch my wings and go out on my own. Yikes if I write it in here I better follow thru.

Ok nervous fluttering in my stomach. Must stop writing!

As the weather changes I’m ansty for a change as well

Lots of happenings in my life as Spring begins:

Shortly a new niece or nephew will arrive. My hope is for a neice, but a nephew is just as exciting.

Hopefully venturing out into a new part of the country

wondering if I’ll make a more permanent leap

thinking that it’s time for a change I don’t like to sit still for long

training season is winding down looking fwd to 5/3 river bank run and a break in running

Florida was good, a little on the chilly side.

had a BLAST with my travel companions ( Sara and KT you rock)

came back to michigan where it was warmer then FL!

As many know I am an oldest of 6. All 5 of my younger sibs are boys! I pretty much gave up on asking for a sister after the 4th boy was born, I vividly remember crying on the stairs when we recieved the phone call from the hospital saying that the newest sibling was yet another brother ( sorry Joe, I do love you though ) Anyways, growing up in a house of males wasn’t too bad. I seemed to survive and well h it was kind of nice being the only girl..more mom and me time, plus honestly growing up with all brothers has proven to not only fun but I think helpful in the long run. Whenever I needed more female bonding I would just hang out at my good friend Ruth Dirkes who had 5 sisters!

While having all brothers has proven to a positive I did always long for a special sisterly relationship. That longing came to to end about 2.5 years ago when my brother Aaron brought home his then GF ( now wife) Vergie. I still remember the first time I met her ( when they weren’t official) I knew that they both liked eachother so I scoped her out..haha poor girl what she must of thoguht of all the questions. She seemed nice enough, young, and your typical high school girl with a crush.

2.5 years ago all that changed when she and Aaron became engaged. Although we weren’t close in the beginning, I have  to say that I am sooo grateful that Vergie is a part of our family. I consider her more then just my sister in law, she is a the sister I never had. Vergie puts up with my rants/raves, not only did she embrace our crazy family but also embraced our faith! For someone so young she displays so much maturity, and strength. Vergie is most definetly a wonderful addition to our family! From her frankness to her awesome organizational skills and ability to get things done ahead of time,  sharing a love of the same books and movies or having some to just talk with for  a million times a day I love having Vergie as a sister! You’re great Vergie I am so glad that Aaron found you for me ! love ya
